What does a session look like?
Sessions last 55 minutes minimum. We’ll meet (in my office or virtually) and work on helping you meet your therapy goals. Sometimes, we are focused on moving in particular directions and learning new skills. Other times, we are processing difficult emotions and creating a healing space. It all depends on what the individual needs.
What kind of counseling do you use?
My main “modalities” are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential, Person-Centered, Narrative, and Experiential. However, I utilize many modalities depending on what the person in front of me needs most.
Are you a Christian counselor?
Yes, I’m a Christian Counselor! I always want to be transparent about that. However, I work with individuals from all backgrounds. I am happy to incorporate faith into our therapy for those who desire it and where it is appropriate. My job is to help you get where you are trying to go!

Does therapy work?
3,000 scientific studies and 300 summaries of studies convey the consistent, positive effects of counseling and therapy. I utilize evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and ACT, leading to reliably positive results for my clients. I encourage you to do your own research to see its validity for yourself!
Are you the right therapist for me?
The only person who can decide that is yourself! This is why I offer a free first session to new clients, so you can make have clarity before making a commitment. I suggest finding a therapist who understands the situation you are in, has experience helping clients with it, and who you feel a safe, trusting connection with.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
It depends. High-quality therapy often looks like one appointment per week for 6-12 months. I’ve had clients wrap up satisfactorily after just a month, and I have clients who are still benefitting greatly after multiple years. It depends on your situational and personal factors.
Does there have to be something wrong with me to go to therapy?
First, going to therapy doesn’t mean something is “wrong with you”. Since 2020, about 30% of adults have received professional therapy services. Every human being can benefit from the positive effects of therapy, such as increased clarity, confidence, introspection, and more. Speak with me and let’s discuss if therapy is right for you!
